Sónia Rafael has a PhD in Communication Design from Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), a Master in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and a Degree in Communication Design from FBAUL.
Assistant Professor in the area of Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL). Collaborates with the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (FAUL) in the area of Interaction Design. She is a researcher at ITI – Interactive Technologies Institute / LARSyS, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and a collaborator at CIEBA (Fine Arts Research Studies Center). Member of ErgoUX – Laboratory of Ergonomics & UX (FAUL). A founding member of the Várias Vozes – Cultural and Artistic Association and director of Revista Dobra, Literatura, Artes e Design. She was a fellow of the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology). Co-supervised the IST Scope, an educational innovation project at Instituto Superior Técnico, as well as research projects in Communication Design, Interaction Design, UX / UI and New Media. Invited Assistant Professor and Lecturer at Lusofona University (ECATI) and Lusíada University of Lisbon. She is a designer and has developed professional activity as designer, interaction designer and creative director in national and international companies. Investigation Areas: Human-Computer Interaction (HCI); Multimodal Interfaces; Interaction / Communication Design; UX/UI; Digital Sustainability Media. |
